Awakening the Chakras: A Yoga Retreat with Malati Mehrish at Nira Alpina
Written by:

This September, Nira Alpina presents an immersive yoga retreat led by Malati Mehrish, Head of Yoga at Ananda in the Himalayas. Designed as a deep exploration of the chakras—seven vital energy centers that influence our physical, emotional, and mental well-being—this five-day program offers a rare opportunity to align mind and body through ancient yogic practices, personalized attention, and contemporary understanding.

Workshop led by Malati Mehrish Head of Yoga at Ananda
in the Himalayas

September 10th - 14th 2025

Malati brings over two decades of yoga experience rooted in the lineage of the Bihar School of Yoga, with a professional background that bridges Eastern philosophy and modern psychology. Her teaching weaves together asana, breathwork, and yogic philosophy with profound clarity. She has guided a wide range of individuals—children, athletes, business leaders, seniors, and those facing terminal illness—always with an unwavering belief in yoga as a tool for awareness and transformation. Her academic training (BSc, MBA in Marketing) and her studies in Shad Darshana, Raja Yoga, and Tantra allow her to bring structure, depth, and intellectual engagement to each session.

Each day of the retreat will include four hours of practice—two in the morning and two in the evening—tailored to deepen self-awareness and unlock dormant potential. Participants will learn to build sustainable personal practices, apply yogic insight to daily life, and cultivate a sense of inner spaciousness. Whether you’re just beginning your journey or refining an established path, this retreat is designed to meet you where you are.

Complementing the yogic work is a full Ayurvedic culinary experience led by Chef Diwaker Balodi, Executive Chef at Ananda in the Himalayas and a leading figure in mindful nutrition. Chef Diwaker’s menus focus on balance, digestibility, and pleasure—drawing from Ayurvedic principles while showcasing seasonal ingredients from the Alpine region. Meals are designed to support detoxification, reduce inflammation, and restore harmony through a personalized dosha-sensitive approach.
